CONGRATULATIONS TO J. YOUNG FOR HER WINNING BIO! NOT AMUSED? FINE. THE REAL BIO >
David began his love affair with the stage early on with his dance career. He discovered his love of the chasse, heel turn, and enchufla when crowned King of the Little Mr. Nevada Beauty Pageant 1997. David knew the pageant life was not for him, but dance was his calling. With this revelation tucked under his tank footed unitard, he knew he needed to dance.
His parents allowed him to spend his summers at dance camp. He won the coveted Mr. Sassy- Step Camper 5 years in a row and his future was brimming with possibilities. He had idolized Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing and had conjured a life plan that included teaching dance lessons to lonely women at family camps in Norman, Oklahoma... then it happened.
David suffered a devastating misfortune that changed everything. Through a friendly game of Cow Swishing (played by gracefully kicking your leg over a cow... very popular with small town dancers), David went for the largest cow in the field and was left doubled over in pain. His dreams were crushed because he was left with the career debilitating Snapping Hip Syndrome. Everything came crashing in for David. After months of physical therapy and no progress, David relinquished his dream. He was left wandering for a new creative outlet.
He eventually found his fervor for music when his path crossed with an old pageant friend at a Norwegian Forest Cat Show. He decided a new stage would be his home and that the life of music venues, bars, and open fields would serve him well. If you take notice when David performs, you can see the rhythm in his body is slightly more precise, confident, and stylish than any other performer. The dance still burns inside!!!
